Traveling to Montenegro
Located in Southeastern Europe, in the Balkans, Montenegro, with its favorable geographical location and stable economy, is increasingly becoming a popular travel destination for tourism, business, and investments.
Nationals of certain countries can enter Montenegro if they carry a valid identity card, or other document determining their identity, but other foreigners can only enter the country if they have the appropriate Montenegro visa and fulfill the Montenegro visa requirements. As a rule, there is no Montenegro e-Visa and the Montenegro visa application form should be submitted in person to the embassy or consulate of Montenegro in your home country.
The validity of the Montenegro visa depends on the visa type applied for and ranges from 90 days for a short-stay visa to 365 days for a long-stay visa.

In certain cases, permission for temporary residence in Montenegro may be considered a long-stay visa. This permission is granted to foreigners intending to stay longer than 90 days in Montenegro, for the following purposes:

- Seasonal work;
- Secondary education and studies
- Participation in student exchange programs or other youth programs
- Specialization or professional training
- Scientific-research
- Medical treatment
- Family reunification
- Humanitarian reasons
- Other justified reasons specified by law or international agreements
