Required Documents for Turkey Visa
Documents for a Turkish visa application must be completed or translated into English or Turkish.
For e-visa applications
- A passport that will be valid for a minimum of 60 days after the approved and stipulated duration of stay in Turkey
- Note: Depending on your nationality, you might be eligible for a Turkish e-Visa application if you meet the following conditions:
- Have residence permits or visas from countries including Ireland, the Schengen states, the UK, or the US
- Hotel reservations
- Proof that you can financially support your stay in the country
- Round-trip ticket with specific airlines
- Confirm that you are traveling for tourism purposes only
For sticker visa applications
- Valid passport
- Passport must be valid for at least one year from the date of application
- At least 2 blank pages
- Passport-sized photos
- Size 5 x 6 cm
- Plain white background
- Taken within the past 6 months
- Forward-facing with facial features visible and clear
- Valid residence permit, if applicable
- Documents pertinent to your trip
- Travel Itinerary or plan
- Proof of return to country of residence or forward ticket to another country
- Reason for travel to Turkey
- Flight reservations
- Proof of financial means (bank statements, personal properties, business certificate, and/or other assets)
- Proof of accommodations (with booking reference number, location, and contact number of the hotel) or invitation
- Travel medical insurance
- Valid through the entire visa period
- Copy of the insurance card and policy certificate which indicates the area of coverage in Turkey
- Documents attesting to the applicant’s income status
- Applicants invited by a person living in Turkey should submit an invitation letter with the following information:
- Inviting person’s TR Identity or Citizenship number
- Permanent address
- Contact number
- Inviting person’s relationship with the applicant
- Income status
- Invitee’s length and purpose of stay in Turkey
- Applicants invited by an organization or a company should submit an invitation letter with the following information:
- Tax registration certificate of the organization
- Guarantee of inviting organization that they will provide assurances for food and accommodation expenses
Note: Applicants below the age of 18 are required to submit the following additional requirements:
- Official written approval from both parents or legal guardians
- If the minor applicant's parents are divorced, divorce papers are required, as well as official written approval from the parent who has custody of the minor applicant
- If one of the minor applicant's parents is deceased, a death certificate is required, as well as official written approval from the parent who has custody of the minor applicant
It may also be necessary to submit supplementary documents in relation to your travel visa application.
Note: Applicants with a valid visa or residence permit issued by Canada, Ireland, UK, USA or any member of the Schengen states are eligible to apply for Turkish eVisa.
Turkish Visa Application Steps
For e-visa applications
- Note: Certain nationalities can apply for a Turkish e-Visa on this website.
- Click “Apply Now” to start a new application
- Select your country
- Select the type of your travel document
- Select the date of arrival
- Fill out the personal information and click Send
- After receiving the verification message in your email address, click the “Approve” button.
- After making payment, the link to download your visa will be emailed to you. You are advised to keep a softcopy or a hardcopy of your visa when entering Turkey.
- Note: The length of stay and the number of entries to Turkey may vary, depending on your nationality
For sticker visa applications
- Prepare all the required documents.
- Fill out the application form.
- Applications for Turkish sticker visas have to be made through the Pre-Application System of Turkish Sticker Visa on this link.
- Select the country and consulate where you would like to submit your application.
- Complete the application form.
- Select “Tourism” as the reason for travel on the visa application form
- Decide the number of entries needed to Turkey.
- Submit the form online.
- Print out the application form.
- Schedule a visa appointment, if applicable.
- Most applications require an in-person appointment at the nearest consulate or visa center in order to submit the application. Alternatively, applications may be submitted without prior appointment during normal operating hours. Contact the consulate or visa center to determine if there is a need to schedule an appointment.
- Submit your Turkish visa application.
- Note: Applications must be submitted at least 1 month before the date of travel but not earlier than 6 months before the date of travel.
- Generally, applications must be submitted in person to the consulate or visa processing center. However, there may be a few differences in the submission procedures between the two.
- Submit the paper copies together with the other documents during your appointment.
- Applicants will likely be required to submit their fingerprints (biometric data)
- Pay the visa application fee.
Turkish Visa Fees
The standard fee for the application of a Turkish visa is 758.90TL for single entry and 2,542.20TL for multiple entries. Applicants have to pay a separate, non-refundable service payment with their application.
e-Visa application fees may vary depending on the applicant’s nationality. Payment can be made using credit or debit cards, such as Mastercard, Visa, or Unionpay.
When to Apply for The Visa
Sticker visa applications must be submitted at least 1 month before the travel date but not earlier than 6 months before the travel date.
Applicants using the e-Visa platform are advised to lodge their application at least 48 hours before they travel to Turkey.
Where to Apply
For sticker visa applications:
- Applications must be submitted either through the Turkish Consulate or a visa application center that is connected with Turkey.
- Applications must be submitted only in the country of citizenship or residence.
- In countries without any Turkish consular representation, applicants can submit their application to the nearest accredited consular office of Turkey.

For e-visa applications
Turkish Visa Processing Time
Sticker visa applications submitted to Turkish consulates and visa processing centers should not take more than 90 days to process.
For e-visas, the processing time can be as short as a few minutes. However, in some cases it might take longer.
For approved visa applications:
Applicants must ensure that the information on the visa is complete and valid upon collection.
Applicants who have received their Turkish visa should remember the following things:
- Additional documents pertaining to your financial means or accommodation may still be required to gain entry to Turkey.
For denied visa applications:
Applicants whose visa applications were rejected can write to the consulate that issued the rejection.
