Required Documents for Ukraine Visa
For e-visa applications
- Scanned copy of the passport details pages
- Digital passport-sized Photo in JPEG
- Copy of medical/travel insurance that covers the entire stay in Ukraine with a minimum amount of €30,000 or the equivalent in another currency
- Proof of sufficient finances to cover the cost of stay in the country
- Proof of booking or proof of payment for food and lodging for the stay in Ukraine
- Proof of contract or voucher with tour operators
- Letter of guarantee stating that the host will be financially responsible for applicant’s entire period of stay in the country (only applies to those who were invited to Ukraine)
- Round-trip ticket or ticket to forward destination after stay in Ukraine
- Return or forward ticket
- Proof of tourism as the main reason for traveling
- Proof of hotel booking
- Proof of contract or voucher with tour operators
- Proof of local tourist services such as visits to culturally significant sites, tourist attractions, etc.
For paper applications
- Passport
- Valid for at least 3 months from the date the applicant leaves Ukraine
- At least 2 blank pages for the sticker visa and stamps
- With validity that does not exceed a maximum of 10 years
- Completed Ukraine visa application form (printed and signed)
- Passport-sized photo
- Medical/travel insurance that covers the entire stay in Ukraine with a minimum amount of €30,000 or the equivalent in another currency
- Proof of sufficient finances to cover the cost of stay in the country
- Bank statement over a period of 2 months, or bank cards with balance statements, or savings account with balance statements
- Letter from applicant’s employer or sponsor stating that they will cover the expenses of the applicant while in Ukraine (if applicable)
- Return or forward ticket
- Paid visa fee receipt, unless otherwise mentioned by the Ukraine’s international treaty or legislation
- Proof of tourism as the main reason for traveling
- Hotel or accommodation booking
- Sightseeing information
- Tour program and timeframes
- Tour operator’s details

Ukraine Visa Application Steps
For e-visa applications
- Prepare the required documents.
- Fill out the Ukraine visa application form.
- Visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine E-visa application website. Select your country of citizenship and select ‘Tourism’ as the purpose of the trip. Create an account, fill out the Ukrainian visa application form, attach the supporting Ukraine visa requirements and submit your Ukraine visa application.
- Submit the Ukraine visa application form.
- After submitting the Ukrainian visa application form online, the applicant will receive a confirmation email on the email address used for registration.
- Pay the Ukrainian visa application fee.
- The visa fee can be paid using Internet banking.
For paper applications
- Prepare the required documents.
- Fill out the Ukraine visa application form.
- Visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website to create an account. Confirm your account and fill out the Ukraine visa application form. Submit the Ukraine visa application form online. Print the submitted application form and sign it.
- Schedule an appointment with the Ukrainian consulate, embassy, or VAC.
- After filling out and submitting the Ukraine visa application form on the official website of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the applicant will be able to book an appointment with the Ukrainian consulate, embassy, or VAC.
- Submit the Ukrainian visa application form.
- Submit the printed and signed Ukraine visa application form along with the supporting Ukraine visa requirements to the relevant Ukrainian consulate, embassy, or VAC.
- Pay the Ukrainian visa application fee.
NOTE: Ukrainian visa applicants are advised to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website to create an account, fill out and submit the application form online, aside from submitting the printed and signed application form at the consulate, embassy or VAC to make the application process easier.
Ukraine Visa Fees
The visa fees for Ukrainian sticker visa applications is $65 while visa fees for an e-visa is $20 for single entry and $30 for double entry. The fee for expedited service is double that of regular service. However, there are certain applicants that might need to pay a different amount based on the reciprocity principle. Check here for reciprocal fees. Aside from visa fees, there might also be additional applicable service fees. Note that all visa fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.
When to Apply
For Ukrainian sticker visas, applicants should submit their Ukrainian visa applications not earlier than 3 months before the intended travel date. For e-visa applications, applicants should submit their Ukrainian visa applications at least three working days before the intended travel date and no earlier than three months.
Where to Apply
Applications for Ukraine visa can be submitted to Ukrainian consulates or embassies in countries where the applicant is a citizen or temporary or permanent resident. Check here to see consulates or embassies in your country. Submissions can also be made to Ukrainian VACs. E-visa applications can be made on the website of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
Ukraine Visa Processing Time
The processing time for Ukraine visa applications may take up to 10 working days from the date of submission unless informed otherwise by the Ukrainian consulate or embassy. However, there are cases when it may take up to 30 days. Expedited service is also available for an extra fee. E-visa applications may take up to 9 working days to process.
For approved visa applications
Applicants who have received their e-visa applications must save an e-copy of the visa and print it to show to the Immigration Officer upon entry to the country. Applicants for both Ukrainian sticker and e-visas are advised to check the information on the visa to ensure they are correct and that they match the information on the passport.
For denied visa applications
Applicants whose e-visa applications have been denied can submit a new Ukraine visa application or appeal the decision by sending a formal appeal letter within two months of receiving the decision to [email protected]. If your letter of appeal against the refusal of the e-visa is granted, you can log in to your e-visa account, edit your form and resubmit it. There is no need to pay the consular fee again.
Applicants whose sticker visa applications have been denied can submit an appeal letter and a request for reconsideration to the relevant Ukrainian consulate or embassy within two months from the date of the receipt of the decision.
