4 Requirements for Obtaining a 5-year UAE Tourist Visa
In a bid to support the country’s tourism sector and strengthen the UAE’s status as one of the premier tourist destinations today, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has set the requirements for obtaining a 5-year tourist visa.
The multi-entry tourist visa is open to all nationalities. It does not need any guarantor, allows holders to exit and enter the country as many times as they want, has a validity of 5 years, and enables the visa holder to stay in the country for a maximum of 90 days each year. The annual stay can be extended for another 90 days by submitting a request to the ICA.
To obtain the visa, applicants must submit the following requirements:
- Bank statements for the last six-month period with a minimum balance of $4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies
- Health insurance
- Color photograph
- Copy of the passport
Previously, concessions have also been made for single-entry tourist visas and long-term tourist visas that allow travelers to stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days and 90 days, respectively. Both visas were allowed to be extended twice for 30 days each, without the need to leave the country.
The authorities hope that with the new visa requirements, it will be easier to facilitate the entry of tourists into the country and strengthen the UAE’s status as a global economic player.
